Migrate to the OtpGet API in Minutes: Same Protocol, Two Changes
Switching suppliers sounds risky: new docs, new parameters, new bugs. The OtpGet SMS API was designed to avoid that. It uses the familiar action-based protocol, with the same style of parameters and the same style of plain-text replies, so most existing integrations only need two edits.
The two changes
- Base URL - point your requests to
https://otpget.com/stubs/handler_api.php. - API key - use your OtpGet key from the dashboard.
Actions such as getBalance, getNumber, getStatus and setStatus keep their usual names and reply formats.
A safe migration plan
- Test with the sandbox key. Same URL, fake numbers, a virtual balance. Run your whole flow.
- Compare lists. Call
getServers, getCountriesandgetServicesand map our ids to yours once. - Move a small share of traffic. Send 10 percent of orders to OtpGet and compare success rate and speed.
- Raise the share as results look good, keeping the old supplier as a fallback for a while.
- Lock the key to your server IP and set a daily buy limit.
What you gain
- Several servers behind one key, so you can fall back inside the same account.
- An optional
currencyparameter, so you can drop your own exchange-rate code. - Webhooks, so you can stop polling.
- Rentals, email OTP, cheap and premium numbers under the same wallet.
Things to check before the switch
- Service and country ids may differ; always map by the list calls.
- Your timeouts and polling interval.
- Your error handling for the codes listed in our error guide.
