Server 1 vs Server 2 Temporary Email on OtpGet: What Is the Difference?
On the Buy Email page the first thing you choose is a server. The two servers look similar but ask for different information. Pick the wrong one and you may look for a field that is not there. This is the short version of how they differ.
Server 1: pick the service
Server 1 is service-based. You choose a domain such as Gmail or iCloud, then you choose the service you are verifying, for example Instagram or Telegram. The price comes from the service you pick. The domain list on Server 1 is short and the stock for the main domains is large.
Server 2: type the website
Server 2 is domain and site based. You type the website where you will register, for example telegram.com, and the page lists every domain that works for that site, each with its own price and stock. At the time of writing that list included email.com, gmx.com, mail.com, Hotmail, Outlook, about twenty Yandex domains, Gmail and iCloud.
Side by side
| Server 1 | Server 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| You choose | Domain, then service | Website, then domain |
| Domain choice | Few, large stock | Many, with different prices |
| Price depends on | The service | The website and the domain |
| Reorder a fresh code | Not offered | Yes, billed like a new purchase |
| Best for | Quick orders on major domains | Hunting for the cheapest domain that a site accepts |
Which should you start with?
- Want the lowest price: Server 2, and use the cheap domains.
- Want a simple flow on Gmail or iCloud: Server 1.
- Need a second code on the same mailbox: Server 2.
- Automating: both work through the same API, only the parameters differ.
The same rules apply to both
Orders without a code are cancelled and refunded after 30 minutes, or you can cancel earlier yourself. The address is a receiving address, not an inbox you can log in to. For the API calls of each server, see the cURL guide.
Choosing by situation
| Your situation | Pick |
|---|---|
| I only need Gmail or iCloud quickly | Server 1 |
| I want the cheapest domain for a given website | Server 2 |
| I need a second code on the same address | Server 2 |
| I build an integration and want fewer parameters | Server 1, using a domain and a service code |
| I build an integration and want price comparison | Server 2, using the site and domain list |
A tip for new users
Try one order on each server with a small balance. After two orders you will know which flow feels natural, and you will stop wondering which one you are supposed to use. Both are supported, and the choice is about convenience and price.
Questions people ask
Can I use the same address on both servers?
No. An order belongs to the server where you bought it.
Which one is cheaper?
It depends on the site, but Server 2 lists the cheapest domains side by side.
